SNA
The Student Nurses’ Association is a nation wide organization that aims for reaping the Best Nurses by sowing the seeds right from the student period. It was established at the PSG College of Nursing in 1995.
Activities of SNA
The SNA Strives hard for the upliftment of the students through professional, educational, extra curricular activities.The Executive Board Meeting
The board members met together & planned the activities for the whole year under the guidance of SNA President Dr.A.Jayasudha, Principal & SNA Advisor Prof.Poornima Mary Rodriguez.The executive committee met regularly to plan & discuss about various activities.General Body Meeting
The general body meeting was conducted once in two months, where the students expressed their views and problems. The participants winners of various competitions were congratulated.Educational Activities

XXVIII STATE SNA BIENNIAL CONFERENCE-SPORTS
– 2019
Tamilnadu Nursing Association of India (TNAI), Tamilnadu State had its XXVIII STATE SNA BIENNIAL CONFERENCE at KMCH College of Nursing from 26.09.19 to 28.09.19. Totally 54 Nursing Colleges and 7 Schools of Nursing all over TamilNadu participated in the event. 54 students (18 boys & 36 Girls) from PSG College of Nursing participated in various track and field events and won prizes. The details are given below.

Nursing Inter Collegiate Sports Meet 2017-2018
The TamilNadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University Nursing Inter Collegiate Sport Meet- 2017-18 “Saathanaikku sandharpam” was hosted by KG College of Nursing at KGISL Campus , Saravanampatty, Coimbatore on 21st & 22nd of November 2017. Totally 52 colleges participated. 44 students (25 Girls & 19 Boys) from PSG College of Nursing participated in various track and field ev ents and won prizes. The details are given below:

MINERVA QUIZ COMPETITION 2017
Six students participated in ‘Minerva quiz competition’ as two groups organized by Gokulam College of Nursing, Salem on 21st April 2017 and won the First prize with rolling trophy.

IMA – QUIZ towards International Nurses Day – 2016
Students from BSc(N), MSc (N) and faculty also participated in the Medical Quiz conducted by the Indian Medical Association, Coimbatore branch at IMA Hall, Coimbatore on 20.04.2016. This was to mark the International Nurses Day, May, 8th 2016. Totally 10 members participated in the competition (Two faculty, 2 PG students and 6 UG students). Out of 31 teams participated, we won the 1st and III prizes. Prize Winners were awarded with trophies and certific
Certificates and prizes were given for the students and also two awards for the college for motivating the students. Prof Meera Saravanan co-ordinated the programme. Dr.G.Malarvizhi, encouraged and appreciated the students for their success and she asked the students to motivate their peers to continue the good work.
Students participated in ‘Intercollegiate Quiz Competition’ held at ‘Vinayaka Missions Annapoorna College of Nursing, Salem on 29.1.16 and won The First Prize. Students won the trophy consecutively for the past three years , the rolling trophy will be retained by our Institution permanently.

Professional Activities
It was decided to circulate the Nursing Journal of India to all SNA GB members and one volunteer will presented it during every GB meeting. The students had participated for XXVI SNA Tamil Nadu State Biennial Conference at Chithirai College of Nursing, Madurai from 9th to 11th April 2015. Among the competition PSG College of Nursing has won the II place for scientific paper presentation which is selected to National Level SNA Biennial Conference which is scheduled in November 2015 at Chathisgarh.SNA Activities – From 2009 To 2024

| 7 | August 2023 | State SNAI Biennial Conference, Independence Day, Onam “Aarppo 2023″ | • The XXX Tamil Nadu State SNAI Biennial Conference was hosted in Dharan College of Nursing, Salem on 11.8.2023 and 12.8.2023.B.Sc Nursing I,II and III Year students participated in various competitions like Quiz, On the Spot Painting, Rangoli, Posters, Personality contest, sports events such as Discuss throw, Javelin, Badminton and Relay. Mr.Samuel Sunny of B.Sc Nursing III Year won the second runner up and Ms.Ambalika, B.Sc Nursing I year won second prize in on the spot painting. This conference has given them opportunity to meet Leaders, strengthen their Professional Network Connections, team work platform to exhibit their talent and level up their skills. • As part of Independence Day Celebration Essay, Poetry, Singing and skit Competitions were conducted on the theme Mahakavi Bharathiar and National Freedom Movement. Students actively participated. • Celebrated Onam “Aarppo 2023” on 29.08.2023 in A Ground, PSG Health Sciences Institutions. The event began with the entry of the king Mahabali that added cheers to the crowd. Students performed thiruvadira dance, flash mob and conducted various activities like fun games. In view of this 33 B.Sc Nursing students from I, II, III and IV Year participated in various events such as Extempore, Essay writing, On the spot Painting, Pencil sketching, Monoact, Floor decoration, Classical dance, Hair do, Face painting, Mehandi, Comedy Time, Vegetable Carving, Glazy pot and Poster Presentation. Students won Ist Prize in On the spot painting, Poster on the topic (Anatomy and Physiology, SNAI Activities), Comedy Time, IIIrd Prize in Floor Decoration, Poster on the topic (Biomedical Waste Management). SNA General Body meeting was held on 31.07.2023.New SNA EB Members for the year 2023-2024 were elected and took charge. Students who participated in Summer University 2023 presented a detailed report of the programme. “UTSAV Dheera 2023” cultural programme was organized by B.Sc Nursing IV Year (Eunike) 2019 batch on 20.07.2023 and 21.07.2023. Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneshwaran, Director, PSG Superspeciality Hospital and Mrs. G. Nirmala, Department of Nursing, College of Health and Sport Sciences, University of Bahrain (Alumni 1994 Batch) were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively. 11 On stage events and 8 Off stage events were conducted. Around 300 Students from 72 Colleges& 5 Schoolsof Nursing actively participated in the competitions. Prof. Dr. A. Jayasudha, Principal, PSG College of Nursing, welcomed the gathering by mentioning the significance of celebrating Women’s day and placed a special note of thanks to Dr.Ani Grace Kalaimathi, President TNAI, Tamilnadu state branch for giving an opportunity to host the International Women’s Day Celebration at PSG College of Nursing. She also congratulated the winners and the students for their enthusiastic participation. The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Jaeny Kemp, Vice President of TNAI, South Region addressed the gathering and highlighted that “Women are stronger and greater among men”. She emphasized the importance of women taking up the leadership roles in various fields. Which was followed by a debate on the topic “Naveena uzhagathil thozhilnutpa vazharchiavachiyamanatha??Aapathanatha?”. Prof. VasanthiBai, PG Assistant, Elsie Matriculation & Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore moderated the debate with 6Nursing studentdebaters (Ms. Abirami. M, Ms. Angali. M, Ms. Swarnamugi. S, Ms. Simi Preethi. G.A, Ms. Vyshali.M and Ms. Bavatharani. J). The debaters expressed their views on importance, advantages and illeffects of technological developments. The moderator concluded that the Technological development is highly essential in this modern world. The moderator and debaters humorous talk added essence to the debate. The prizes were distributed to the winners of Slogan Writing, Doodle art and Short Film Making competitions. In slogan writing, Ms. JiyaJoseph from Vellalar College of Nursing,Erode won 1st prize and 2nd prize won by Mr. AdhilSarhan from Sri RamachandraInstitute for Higher Education and Research, Chennai & Mr. KulandaiYesu.M from Sardar Rajas College of Nursing,Thirunelveli and 3rd prize won by Ms.AcsaJosefrom CMC College of Nursing, Vellore &Ms. Ashwini.A fromRajalakshmiCollegeofNursing, Kancheepuram. | 9 | September 2022 | Farewell 2018 batch | B.Sc Nursing 3rd year students gave farewell to the 4th year outgoing batch students on 30th September, 2022 between 2pm and 3 pm at exam hall 5th floor. Students and faculty attended. Dr. A .Jayasudha, Principal Presided over the program and insisted the outgoing batch students to stay connected with their alma matter after they leave the institution and prepare well for the university exam. Students shared their memories and memento with their seniors. 3rd and 4th years joined together for cake cutting. SNA election results were announced and the EB members handed over their responsibilities. The program ended with vote of thanks. |
| 8 | September 2022 | SNA Election 2022 | SNA election 2022 was held on 24th September between 8.30am and 10.00 am. All 4 batch students gave their votes to the nominees followed by vote counting was done. New executive board members were selected. Results were planned to be announced in the farewell on 30.09.2022. | 7 | September 2022 | Onam Celebration | Student Nurses Association celebrated Onam (Aarambam-2022) on 08.09.2022 at A- Ground, PSG Health Sciences Institutions. Final year students have organized the program. Students decorated the floor with pookolam using colourful flowers, the entry of king Mahabali added cheers to the crowd. Students performed thiruvadhira dance, Malayali mangas walk show and conducted various activities like fun games to the teachers and students like bottle filling with water, tug of war. All have actively participated and won the prizes. At the end of the program sweets and ada prathaman payasam was distributed to all. |
| 6 | September 2022 | Teacher’s Day Celebration | SNA celebrated teachers day on 5th September in seminar hall at 2-3 pm. Final years were the organizing batch. Dr.A Jayasudha addressed the gathering signified that teachers are like sculpture turning the raw material into a beautiful object by adding their essences.Students have arranged interesting games to the teachers and gave prizes, teachers actively participated and enjoyed. Program came to an end by cake cutting. |
| 5 | August 2022 | Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav Celebration | SNA Unit of PSG College of Nursing (West Zone) conducted Elocution Competition on the topic “இந்திய விடுதலைப் போரில் பெண்களின் பங்கு” as part of Azadi ki Amrit Mahotsav Celebration on 02.08.2022. Totally 18 Colleges participated in and around Coimbatore. Best two sent to the University (1st Place KG College of Nursing and 2nd Place Ganga College of Nursing). |
| 4 | July 2022 | Utsav Aura | SNA unit celebrated UTSAV- AURA’22 college cultural on 15th & 16th of July, 2022 at open stage opposite to the auditorium. IV year (Medico Tentations 2018-B) organized on stage and off stage events for 3 batches (I, II & III Years). Judges were invited from various departments inside the Health Science campus. Mr.G. Thangavel, Proprietor, Delite Orchestra, Coimbatore was invited as Chief Guest, Dr.J.S.Bhuvaneshwaran, Director, PSG super Speciality Hospitals was the Guest of Honor. The Overall trophy UTSAV AURA ’22 championship was won by III yr B.Sc Nursing students. |
| 3 | May 2022 | International Nurses Day | SNA and NSS Unit celebrated International Nurse Day on the theme “Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health. In this regard, SNA and NSS Unit, PSG CON acknowledged and presented awards to our alumni Ms.R.Nisha and Ms.P.Poovizhi, Staff Nurse PSG Hospitals, Coimbatore for the outstanding act of service to the COVID patients during pandemic. Students of B.Sc Nursing joined hands and illustrated the strength of nurses in securing global health. |
| 2 | April 2022 | World Health Day | PSG College of Nursing (SNA, NSS Unit & Community Health Nursing Department) observed World Health Day on April 7th 2022 with the theme “OUR PLANET OUR HEALTH” focusing attention to the well-being of our planet and the humans living on it. Various events were organized such as Yoga sessions, Health Education, Role play, Games and School Health Mela. The day started with Simple yoga asanas demonstrated by Mr.Jeladharan, Counsellor, PSG Krishnammal Arts& Science College, Peelamedu in PSG Sports ground at 7:00am. Around 400 students and faculty actively participated and were benefitted. Public awareness programs like Perfect Pick, Choose Yourself games, Role Play on WHO Theme and education on Healthy Lifestyle were organized by II Year B.Sc Nursing students in ‘B’ Block PSG Hospitals. School Health Mela was organized in PSG High School, Vedapatti which included activities such as skit on Healthy Life style& Environmental sanitation, Fashion Show on ill effects of junk food, Dance on Exercises and Nutrition Exhibition by IV Year B.Sc Nursing students. Nearly 150 students were benefitted. Affiliation list is being categorized into four zones. For West Zone PSG College of Nursing has been selected as center for conducting Skit Competition “சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட தமிழக வீரரின் – ஓர் சம்பவம் அல்லது ஓர் நிகழ்ச்சி” to all the affiliated Nursing colleges on 08.12.2021. Totally 13 colleges participated in and around Coimbatore. 1st and 2nd prize was bagged by KG College of Nursing and PPG College of Nursing respectively. | 6 | October 2021 | Saraswathi Pooja Celebration | Students from all 4 years and faculty of PSG College of nursing have gathered to take part in Saraswathi Pooja celebration on 15.10.2021 at III- floor conference hall. | 6 | March 2014 | “Ujvala 2014″ | Ujvala 2014 is an intra collegiate cultural and fund raising programme to support social causes. It was held on March 15th 2014 at examination hall of V floor. The programme was inaugurated by Principal Prof.Elizabeth Jean Abraham, College of Nursing at 9.20 a.m. Presidential address was given by Principal and she declared the Ujvala – 2014 open. The day was moved on with a splash of colourful events one after the other. the stalls for food and games adored the other side of the veranda. Various cultural events like mime, group dance, quiz, dumb chards, fashion show, Ms./Mr personality were conducted and the best three performances were awarded with prizes. The funds raised on the day will be utilized to support one deserving paediatric patient at PSG Hospitals and towards supply of stationeries for the Manavar Illam students. The programme came to an end by 8.30 p.m. Faculty and students had a memorable cultural day. |

Students secured 2nd place in Javelin throw, throw ball, Ms.SNA, Mr.SNA and also 3rd place in face painting, vegetable carving and poster presentation on ‘Future of nursing educator in India’. SNA Vice-President and Secretary will attend the XXV SNA National Biennial conference at Surat from 13th to 17th November 2013. |

The students from USA and Switzerland also presented programme like group song and presentation about their lifestyle and famous places in Switzerland & USA. The programme culminated at 5pm. Moments 2013 On January 19th about 49 students from our college participated in the Intercollege Cultural – ‘Moments 2013’ at GKNM and Mani’s School in Pappanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore. The programmes were scheduled from 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The students won prizes in most of the events participated. We won the third place in the overall championship. | 02 | October 09 | XXIII STATE SNA BIENNIAL CONFERENCE, XXIII NATIONAL SNA BIENNIAL CONFERENCE, ZOTICUS. | XXIII State SNA Biennial Conference was conducted in CCN Neyoor. 56 students from our SNA unit participated for various competitions. We won the 2nd and 3rd price for the scientific paper presentation among 26 papers presented. Among 57 groups participated our group won the first price for talent night. Ms. Priya Varghese(2006 batch) and Ms. Anusha Rani(2007 batch) attended the National Biennial conference which was conducted in Culcutta. Many students participated in ZOTICUS which was organized by CMC Vellore. Ms. Nirosha A(2006 batch) won the 3rd price in relay. |

| 04 | July 09 | World population day ‘Fight against poverty: educate girls’ | Students actively organized the day by statistical and articles display related on world and Indian population and mind glowing slogans based on population explosion. |
| 05 | June 09 | International Day Against Drug Abuse. ‘Say no to drugs; Save community.’ | Celebrated along with NSS unit Students participated in slogan and tableau competition. Students of 2006 batch won the First prize for tableau based on the theme “DO DRUGS CONTROL YOUR LIFE, YOUR LIFE & YOUR COMMUNITY.” |
